How are we different

At Smudges and Strokes, we believe that artistic skills begin with the eyes. We do more than give our students a blank canvas and ask them to draw “art”. Our goal is to train our students on how to appreciate art.

Each class focuses on a specific work by a master artist. The students examine the masterpiece and encouraged to give their own impressions.Then they are taught how to break it down into its basic elements and are encouraged to come up with their own interpretation. The final product,however, is still the child’s own creation.
